PSSF Engages with PS for State Department for Public Service & Human Capital Development
Public Service Superannuation Fund (PSSF) Chief Executive Officer Dr Jonah Aiyabei paid a courtesy call to Dr Jane Kere Imbunya, Principal Secretary in the State Department for Public Service and Human Capital Development, to update her on developments at the state pension scheme, including preparations for the inaugural Pan-African Pensions Conference scheduled for November.
The conference, set for November 26th to 28th, at the Diamonds Beach & Golf Resort in Diani, will bring together pension regulators, asset managers, policymakers and trustees from across Africa to debate governance, sustainability and investment strategies in public pension systems.
Dr Imbunya, who will speak at the conference, said the forum offers Kenya an opportunity to showcase reforms in public service pensions and exchange lessons with peers in the region.
“The sustainability of public pension schemes is not just a financial issue, but also a human capital question for the future of Africa’s workforce,” she said.
Aiyabei noted that PSSF, which manages retirement savings for civil servants, has been strengthening its governance, compliance and member services to position itself as a model scheme.
Also present at the briefing was PSSF trustee David William Okoth Ochiel, who is also Human Resources Director at the State Department.
