Agnes holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Systems Management (BSc- HSM) from Kenya Methodist University (KeMU). She has a higher diploma in Kenya Registered Psychiatric Nursing (KRPN) and Diploma in Kenya Registered Community Heath Nursing (KRCHN) from Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) Nairobi.

Agnes has Management and Leadership training in Strategic Leadership Development Programme (SLDP), Senior Management Course (SMC) and   Supervisory Skills development at Kenya School of Government (KSG). Agnes has also trained in Corporate Governance from the Centre for Corporate Governance (CCG).

She is a Member of Union of Kenya Civil Servants (UKCS) where she has served in various leadership capacities representing Civil Servants at branch and National level. At the National level she has served as a member of Finance Committee and a   member of Standing Committee of National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF). This has given her extensive experience in industrial labour matters.
